| Super-Natural Matte Smoky Eye Neutral face makeup. Completely matte eye. Winged liner. For an everyday casual look. |
PROCEDURE
01. Apply the foundation of your choice, and set it with a powder. I used MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in NW30 and MAC MSF Natural in Medium Dark.
02. Apply an eyeshadow primer to lids (up to the brow bone) and under-eye area using your finger. Let dry for at least 30 seconds without creasing your eyelids. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Professional Size.
03. While your eyeshadow primer is drying, apply a matte bronzer under your cheekbones to contour your face. Don't overdo it, but add enough bronzer to be able to tell a difference. You can also add a little underneath your jawline to help enhance it. I used MAC Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze.
04. Apply a fairly neutral-pink colored blush on your cheekbones. Start on the apples of the cheeks and work back toward the sides of the face. If you're concerned about concealing flaws, use a matte blush. Even though my skin is not flawless, I still like to use a shimmery blush because it gives a bit of glow to the skin. I used NARS Powder Blush in Orgasm; it's a gorgeous peachy-pink with gold shimmer. As you can see, I've hit pan on mine!
05. Now that your eyeshadow primer is dry, apply a matte highlight color to your entire eye area. I used Wet n Wild's Creme Brulee.
06. Apply a darker matte color to the crease and outer corner of the eye. Then blend it out so there are no harsh edges. You want a nice smooth transition of color from the crease to the highlight. Use any color that creates a subtle difference. I used Buck from the Urban Decay NAKED Palette.
07. Using a liquid felt-tip eyeliner, line the top of your eyes, and add "wings" to the ends. You can always add more liner later on if you don't think it's heavy enough. I used L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt-Tip Liner in Carbon Black.
Note: This step takes practice, so be patient with yourself. I still don't consider myself to be an expert with liquid liner.
08. Apply black mascara to top and bottom lashes. I used L'Oreal Power Volume Collagen & a sample of MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash.
And finally, add a lip color of your choice. I just use whatever combination of products to get a color I like. ;)
09. Use any makeup setting spray to lock in your look, and now you're finished!
